Four ECOWAS Parliament staff members awarded

The Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament, Rt. Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, awarded four staff members of the Community Parliament, on Wednesday 2nd of June 2021, at the seat of the Institution in Abuja, capital of Nigeria. Those awarded are: the Secretary General, John Azumah, Acting Head of the Library Division, Chinwe Adelekan, Acting Head of the Language Division, Ruka Ajana, and the Conference Officer, Fathma Diop.  The ceremony took place before the Community Parliamentarians, meeting in plenary, during the 2021 First Ordinary Session of the Parliament.  The recipients received their awards from the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Jean Claude Kassi Brou.

For the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Tunis, this symbolic award, the first of its kind in the ECOWAS Parliament, is a recognition of the outstanding work of the recipients. Apart from the recipients of the award, he commended the work of all the staff of the parliament, who work tirelessly to organise and ensure the success of the various parliamentary activities.
