On behalf of the Bureau, Members, and Staff of the ECOWAS Parliament, I extend heartfelt wishes and warm season greetings to all, at this festive period.
This yuletide season is the perfect time to reflect and be grateful for the blessings and mercy bestowed on us in 2021. It is also very important that we show gratitude through sharing and caring for the less privileged and those in need.
In the light of the above, I call on everyone to be compassionate and lend a helping hand to others with less opportunity. Let us join hands to lift the spirit of one another regardless of the despair. The New Year, for us, must be a time for solemn reflection, thereby allowing us to look back at our unfinished tasks for 2021 and device the best possible means to get them accomplished in 2022.
As a Parliament, we must also celebrate the gains of the year that is about to end. Our dedication and the resultant effects remain the drive to do more in our quest to effectively represent and serve the people of West Africa.
I wish to acknowledge the efforts made by the various actors across the region who have worked tirelessly to keep us safe in this trying period, dominated by the Covid-19 pandemic and its several variants. The battle to defeat the virus is not over, so I implore you to continue to observe all protocols and also get vaccinated as soon as you can.
As we make resolutions for the New Year, I urge us to do so with sincerity of purpose, being guided by the thoughtfulness of ensuring that our Sub region and indeed the World is made safer and more prosperous for everyone. I am very hopeful that the New Year will be a great year for all.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!
May God bless us all!
May God bless ECOWAS!
Please stay safe!
